Connecting With The Juvenile Detention Center
What If You Could Change A Life?
ALMS is excited to announce that we will join the Yolo County Juvenile Detention Facility as a youth mentor training program. We are thrilled to play a role in changing the trajectory of these young people. Every Sunday afternoon, the job training programs for youth will be mandatory for all youth at the Juvenile Detention Center.
The volunteer programs at the facility provide an opportunity for the youth to interact with mentors, be positively influenced and encouraged, and receive community support. Mentoring is a crucial part of helping the youth in custody. It allows them to experience a positive relationship and guidance. It is also important to teach youth how to seek future positive relationships and support after they leave incarceration, as relationships within the facility are limited to their time in care.
However, this facility sought a job training program for a youth employability service that would empower these young people with additional life skills for success upon leaving. After a ten-year wait, ALMS will start providing job readiness training to these young people. Our goal is to equip them with information and skills, offer adult mentors even after they leave incarceration, and provide support and encouragement to avoid the lifestyle that they had in the past.
ALMS has had many success stories of young adults who have benefited from our programs, such as Betty, who credits ALMS for getting her off the streets and employed, and Carlos, referred to ALMS from the DA's office, and now works his dream job at UC Davis as an electrician. These stories are a testament to the impact of ALMS mentors and the potential for change in these young lives. Your support can help us create more success stories like these. And it is crucial for ALMS to continue serving the young people at the Juvenile Detention facility.
The job readiness training is another layer of support that could pivot our youth away from poverty, homelessness, and crime. ALMS continues to stretch and believes that our mission is to make an enormous contribution by empowering our youth to make better choices and know that they are not alone. Your decision to join us and become a monthly giver is evidence that you believe in our cause. Your donations will train, feed, and mentor our youth as they transform from hopeless to hope. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these young people.

Imagine - the impact of changing the trajectory of just one young person’s life. “We would actually change more than that person because we would have invest in their future - how they chose their spouse, love their children, give to their community, improve their planet – and maybe save the world.” Please donate to youth mentorship programs - www.AllLeadersMustServe.org/donate.
