We're Doing It Again!

ALMS  is a testament to the power of community. It's not just an organization, but a collective effort to mentorship programs for the youth we serve. It requires adult mentors who volunteer their time and loving kindness to the young adults, donors who donate to youth mentorship to continue our work, and the business community who open their doors and hire students at entry-level jobs and give them an opportunity. We all play a crucial role in making a difference, and your support is what keeps us going.

Last month, one of the young adults wrote a powerful tribute to ALMS. We added it to our newsletter; however, only a few people opened the link to see what she had written. ALMS believes that everyone would benefit from hearing this young woman's perspective, so we've included it again in this newsletter for your enjoyment. Her words are a celebration to the impact of our collective efforts and the difference we can make together when mentoring at risk youth.

Whether our youth are homeless, single moms, referred to ALMS by the Courts or the District Attorney’s Office, our diverse youth find support in our mentor network. ALMS offers mentorship programs for young adults. If poverty clouds their dreams, dyslexia, on the spectrum, ADHD, or anxiety holds them back, ALMS is there to say ‘yes - you can’ and guide them.

Our youth come from good homes with limited resources and troubled homes with limited caring and sharing. Many students initially feel that opportunity is beyond their reach, until they discover that they only need to look within themselves, with the support of the strong mentor network available through ALMS.

ALMS mentors are the driving force behind the positive change in their community, one youth at a time. Their dedication and guidance often lead to transformative moments. This young woman has captured how powerful this can be. Click the picture if you prefer to listen or scroll down to read the words that express her journey with ALMS.

Invisible, they walked alone. A silent soul with no safe home. In shadows cast by fear and pain. Their heart was breaking in the rain.

Born to struggle lost and torn in a world that left them worn. But, then they found a guiding nerve - a place called All Leaders Must Serve.

They're invisible no more. Breaking through the locked door. With hands to hold and hearts that care, they're rising up from nowhere.

ALMS showed them the way to fight, from shadowed days to morning light, learning to stand, learning to sore. They're invisible no more.

From broken homes and heavy chains - to classrooms filled with hopes and pain. They found a voice they found their worth, in mentors teaching new birth.

With every lesson, every word, they learned to stand to be heard. A family where they can serve - the heart of All Leaders Must Serve.

They're invisible no more. Breaking through the locked door. With hands to hold and hearts that care - they're rising up from nowhere.

ALMS showed them the way to fight, from shadowed days to morning light, learning to stand, learning to sore. They're invisible no more.

No more shadows - no more chains. They're walking out of all the pain, with courage strong and hope preserved - because All Leaders Must Serve.

Invisible no more - they're free, with a future bright for all to see. Thanks to the love and strength they serve, their life changed by All Leaders Must Serve.

Imagine - the impact of changing the trajectory of just one young person’s life. “We would actually change more than that person because we would have invest in their future - how they chose their spouse, love their children, give to their community, improve their planet – and maybe save the world.” Please donate to youth mentorship - donate to All Leaders Must Serve.
