Students Share Why TRUST is Essential

Woodland High School

This year ALMS provided an after-school program for two weeks, from Monday to Friday. The program was kept to ten students at a time to guarantee everyone could participate in leadership roles equally.

In February, ten high school students from Woodland High School participated and had perfect attendance. In March, ten Pioneer High School students went through the same program and also had perfect attendance.

One of ALMS's objectives was to determine whether providing a small financial incentive would motivate students to maintain perfect attendance. We wanted to test if students would make excuses like "I don't feel very well" or "I have to go home to babysit today." Although these reasons could be genuine, ALMS wanted to know if the students would still show up every day.

ALMS believed that if the students could commit to the program, they would encounter a series of interactive leadership training that would be a memorable experience and would change the course of their lives. And we believe it did! Students asked for more!

Imagine - the impact of changing the trajectory of just one young person’s life. “We would actually change more than that person because we would have invest in their future - how they chose their spouse, love their children, give to their community, improve their planet – and maybe save the world.” Please donate to youth mentorship - donate to All Leaders Must Serve.
